July is National Parks and Recreation MonthIn honor of this month, the Tupelo Parks and Recreation Dept. will be hosting a photo contestThe photos should be taken in the various parks and facilities under the umbrella of the Tupelo Parks and Recreation Dept. (See list of locations below)Photos should be representative of the natural beauty of the parks and/or photos showing people enjoying the park’s amenities; (scenic views, wildlife, birds, connecting people with nature, etc).

RULES AND REGULATIONS

  1. Your entry into this contest is acknowledgment that you agree to the rules, confirms that you are eligible to participate and gives the Tupelo Parks and Recreation Department the right to display your entry on Tupelo Park and Recreation websites, social media sites, and publications. 
  2. The contest is open to individuals 18 years of age and over. 
  3. The contest is open to amateur photographers what are growing and developing their craft.  
  4. Photos must be original to the photographer.  No copies of published or copyrighted photos will be accepted.  
  5. Only one photo entry per contestant.  There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.  
  6. Park name and location must be included when submitting the photo. HOWEVER, no identification is to be placed on the front of the photograph!  
  7. Photo entries should consist of a digital file or jpeg format, 300 dpi (2400×3000) or larger is required. NOTE:  There is no size requirement for Mobile Devise photos.  Contestants must submit their entry digitally via email to melonie.kight@tupeloms.gov  
  8. The photo must fit the criteria of the July 2024 Parks and Recreation Month theme  
  9. Images can be technically enhanced (Color, clarity, sharpness, etc.) 
  10. In the event that the entry does not meet the contest rules or is deemed inappropriate in any way  the organizers reserve the right to disqualify it. 
  11.  Photos may be submitting beginning July 8th through the deadline date of July 31, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. (CST).  Voting dates are July 15, 2024 through August 31, 2024 at 5pm. 
  12. Votes can be cast on-line by the public via our website, www.tupeloparksandrec.org.  The photo with the most votes will win the contest.  In the case of a tie, the staff of Tupelo Parks and Recreation office will choose the winners.   
  13. Winners will be announced Sept. 9, 2024.   
  14. The winning photos will be included, but not limited to use in the Tupelo Parks and Recreation website, Facebook, Instagram, and 2024-25 Leisure Service Guide.
